Eastern Bays
Including Mission Bay, Kohimarama, St Heliers, Orakei, Glendowie

Living in the Eastern Bays is all about lifestyle - harbour views, white sandy beaches, green headlands and parks, not to mention the picturesque cruise or stroll along the harbour-hugging Tamaki Drive.
At the weekend, MissionBay is abuzz with swimmers, wind-surfers, strollers, kids playing and people eating in the numerous restaurants and cafes. Sometimes the whole of Auckland seems to want to be here, to gaze across the turquoise harbour at RangitotoIsland and out into the gulf.
Further along, KohimaramaBeach and St Heliers have their own special charm and St Heliers has a well-developed village of shops.
It’s an addictive spot – many who buy real estate here tend to stay put, so seduced by the lifestyle are they. Where else can you get that mix of seaside magic, yet so close to the city?
The bays have varied types of dwellings, from majestic mansions to modest state housing. The area has at least nine primary schools and three secondary schools, most with high decile ratings.
