Carolyn Austin has a way with people and her empathetic and compassionate nature is underpinned by a sharp business mind, a university degree in design and an ability to achieve the best possible results for her clients.


A valued member of Bayleys’ Remuera team, Carolyn’s personal qualities have enabled her to build a successful real estate career and she has a talent for selling challenging properties – testament to her tenacity and desire to exceed her clients’ expectations.

Born in Taiwan, Carolyn has lived in New Zealand for 12 years and has fitted in well with the ‘Kiwi’ way of life while retaining important links with her own culture.


“As I speak Taiwanese and Mandarin fluently - as well as English - I can relate well and communicate effectively with my Asian clients and this has been extremely helpful in some challenging transactions,” says Carolyn.

Carolyn’s exceptional client service ethic was fostered in her family’s retail store in Taiwan which they have owned for over 30 years.

“I genuinely enjoy dealing with people and interacting with them. The real estate industry is perfect for me as I like to build strong, long-term working relationships with my clients based on trust and confidence,” says Carolyn, who now has a large and active client database.


Carolyn is a team player and enjoys the Bayleys’ approach to real estate. Despite her busy real estate career, Carolyn finds time to volunteer with the Tzu Chi Foundation New Zealand which offers support and assistance to a wide range of people in the community including new immigrants.


“It is rewarding work and provides balance to the business side of my life. The Foundation is based on principles of giving and it is nice to be able to contribute back to the community that has welcomed me to New Zealand.”
